Huddersfield Town maintained their unbeaten start to the League One season but were held to a 0-0 draw at Mansfield Town on Saturday. The match at Field Mill turned on a straight red card for Mansfield substitute Owen Dodgson less than two minutes after his introduction, though the Terriers could not find a breakthrough against the ten men.

The decisive moment came seconds after the restart of the second half. Dodgson, who had come on at half-time, was shown a straight red card for a late lunging tackle on Derensili Sanches Fernandes. The dismissal left the hosts a man down for the entire second period.
Chances go begging
Despite the numerical advantage, clear-cut chances were scarce for the promotion-chasing visitors. Ashley Fletcher failed to convert a headed opportunity in the 63rd minute, while Liam Roberts in the Mansfield goal palmed away a close-range effort from Use. Ilias Bronkhorst and Cameron Humphreys both had late chances but could not find the winner.
Earlier, Michael Smith had failed to connect with a Nathan Moriah-Welsh cross inside the opening ten minutes, and Bojan Radaluvic hit the side-netting after being set up by Fernandes. The result keeps Huddersfield second in the table on 12 points, just one point behind leaders Sheffield Wednesday.
Joe Taylor, the club's top scorer this season with five goals, was kept quiet by the Stags' defence. The Terriers' recent form reads three wins and two draws from their last five outings.
